In July 2012 the Olympics came to London and parts of Stratford were completely transformed. But much of it was still poor and crime rates were high. Even though the Olympic village was stunning to look at, Amit & Naroop were more interested in how the Olympics would affect the young people who lived around the area.
They decided to approach Community Links, an innovative East London charity based in Newham, that run a wide range of community projects for 30,000 people every year. Their idea was to photograph and document the youth involved in the Community Links sports programmes to whom the Olympic legacy would hopefully benefit.
The following photographs were taken over three different sports sessions all in Stratford, East London.
