They’re black and white, white with black stripe – the ones I like to wear when I rock the mic…” Run DMC’s 1986 homage to their sports brand of choice springs to mind looking at this campaign by London-based photographers Amit and Naroop for ADIDAS Originals, emblazoned on billboards, buses, stations, newspapers and digital screens across Europe.

A contemporary twist on the iconic Superstar trainer and three-stripe tracksuit, the shoot featured game-changers from music, sport, art and fashion. Against a bold ADIDAS blue background, rapper Kano, presenter Maya Jama, Bayern Munich footballer Serge Gnabry, plus size model Jada Sezer and others lock eyes with the viewer, daring them to look away. Their powerful poses, determined expressions and the low camera angles are classic Run DMC but they look forward too, to a world of talent, diversity, teamwork – and the flyest of footwear.

To see our work everywhere, featuring influential celebrities and sports stars, for one of the worlds biggest brands was a moment we will never forget.
