Stroll down Mare Street in East London at around 6pm on any given weekend and you could be in for the night of your life. Walking past a kebab house and a photocopying store, it's hard to imagine the promise of what lies behind the buildings' façades. Go any further and you'll miss it, come any later and you might not get in.

For nestled in between is the prize. Small but mighty, welcome to Easy 8, James's favourite (self-proclaimed) dive bar. Commissioned by Toothsome Magazine to capture the experience of a night here, James's lens absorbs the atmosphere as much as it does the characters and offering of the bar.

The work is an invitation to succumb to the energy of the high octane conversations, unexpected dance moves, and sultry cocktails of a night in East London. Immersing himself in the action, the heat and energy vibrate through the screen. But James being James, he still highlights all the vibrant details that tell the story of the evening. East London's finest sparkle under the lights, and the food looks as equally inviting. Are you coming?
