No-one deserves to be misjudged. But for blind and partially sighted people, it’s frustratingly common.
Emily Scarlett Romain shot OOH campaign imagery for the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB) to encourage people to ‘see the person, not the sight loss’, depicting experiences of people who have sight loss with warmth and humour.
The images accompany a TV commercial spotlighting a series of scenarios, from watching the footy in the pub to make-up touch ups on a night out to the mundane chatter of fellow parents in group chats and the school run. Thanks to her unflinching focus on the brief, combined with a naturally open and empathetic approach, Emily collaborated with the talent in a way that empowered them to show up as their true selves.
