Johnnie Walker invited Matt Russell to lend some of his chiaroscuro style to the classic Scotch whisky brand.
The brief called for a set of images showcasing the beverage’s cultural influence in different fields – from cinema to travel. Working collaboratively with a producer and set stylist, Matt conjured subtly dramatic scenes where we see the Johnnie Walker bottle peeping out of an unzipped bag perched on a vintage train seat or propped against a stack of artist’s canvases.
The client was keen for Matt’s aesthetic to run through the visuals, bringing an atmosphere of moody elegance to the shoot.
